Why should language programs aim for interdisciplinary approaches?

If we want to make the case that language learning and multilingualism are vital to our overall educational goals, we also need to show that multilingualism, related outcomes including intercultural competence, and the benefits of the language learning process are beneficial to all learners. At the same time, we need to document and convey the demand for multilingual skills in business, government, healthcare, technology, and other sectors of the labor market.
