Participating on the Day of the Conference (Synchronous)
Presenters
You each have your own Teams meeting, where you have all host permissions. You can prepare by uploading files and posting links in the chat. Make sure that the meeting is being recorded!
Audience Members
Click the Join link from each session page to go open the meeting in Teams. Follow the presenter’s lead with muting and unmuting. Video on, sound off, should be the default.
Participating Asynchronously After the Conference
For students in FLT 817, you are expected to participate in at least 3 of your peers’ sessions.
If you did not attend the FLEx Conference and participate live, or attended fewer than 3 sessions, you must watch session recordings and respond to them using this form. Complete the form once for each session that you “attend” asynchronously.
Use the links on the Conference Schedule to go to the Session pages for sessions you want to “attend.” Pre-recorded videos and audience engagement activities are available on the Session pages. To watch the recording of the session, click the Join button to open the Teams meeting, where the recording, transcript, and shared links will appear as posts.
Your comments will be used to confirm your participation and shared anonymously with the presenters.
Join Us in GatherTown
For some sessions, we also use a game-like virtual meeting platform called GatherTown for more interactive times during the conference. Read on for help with GatherTown:
Gather.Town, the virtual meeting platform, works best on a computer, not a tablet or phone! Best browsers are Chrome and Firefox, but Edge or Safari will work.
Click here to enter our GatherTown space and get a tutorial!
