Language Shapes Leaders

LAD 2025 is my third year participating in this national advocacy event but my first year in person in Washington, D.C. For the past two years, our state team has been led by Dr. Julie Foss as the Public Affairs representative for MIWLA, but this year I am leading the state delegation for Michigan. Scroll down for the extensive collection of resources I have put together for our team and other participants.

The Joint National Committee for Languages – National Council for Language and International Studies (JNCL-NCLIS) informs language educators about ongoing policy and legislation relevant to world languages, ESL, and multilingualism. JNCL hosts multiple events each year in which language educators meet with the offices of Senators and Representatives.
