The Nia Technique | Licensed Teacher
The Nia Technique (https://nianow.com/about) is a fitness modality that brings together elements from dance, martial arts, yoga, and other healing arts to create a holistic, customized workout experience. I have completed two levels of teacher training.

Green Belt
Classes incorporate strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, agility, and mindfulness. People at any level of fitness can participate and adjust intensity for “Your Body’s Way.” Clothing should allow for freedom of movement, such as a t-shirt and loose or stretchy pants. Bare feet are preferred and recommended.

Classic Nia Routines
Every Nia class incorporates elements from dance, martial arts and healing arts to provide an accessible, whole-body workout using various combinations of 52 simple moves as well as freeform movement. Classic Nia routines run 60 minutes and will guide you through the 7 cycles of a Nia class, which include warming up, moderate to vigorous cardio, strength and flexibility work on the ground, and cooling down. Here are a few of my favorites:
Nia On Demand
Live Nia classes are the best way to experience the joy of movement, but Nia also provides hundreds of videos on the streaming platform. Videos range from a one-song dance break to full classic routines. Intensity levels are clearly identified, from seated therapeutic levels and videos designed for those who are new or returning to movement to routines that offer high-intensity interval training. Nevertheless, all routines allow for moving in Your Body’s Way. Listen for recommendations to dance at your Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 to choose the range of motion and intensity level that is right for you at any moment.
